Chrysis - 1940

This is a very rare book. The book by Pierre Louys with illustrations by Louis Icart. Schnessel in his book "Icart," indicates that there were 4 examples on Rives Teinte but gives no more information. The complete information as given on the justification page for the book is that editions II - V contained one set of etchings in color with text, one set in sepia with remarques, and the rare first state in black and white. There is also an original copper plate used to print on of the etchings. The text is in French. The book was published in 1940 with a total edition of 147. The plate size is 5 1/4 x 8" and the page size is 8 x 11 1/4". The paper is Rives Teinte. Available, E-MAIL to request price and condition.
