Louis Icart Carnival

His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
"Buying Works by Icart." He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

This is a loose sheet that has been professionally conserved. The paper is a heavy wove with no watermark. The image and sheet are very clear with the only flaw being uneven printing in the upper left background.
There are no scratches, tears, rips, or foxing or other imperfections to the image or sheet other than noted above.
The signature (lr) is strong and clear. The EM blindsstamp is in the (lc) and the notation "174" is in the (ll).
The copyright notation (ur) reads "Copyright 1920 by the F. H. Bresler & Co, Milwaukee USA" and is strong and sharp. The publisher's notation (ul) reads "publie par L'Estampe Moderne, 12 rue Godot de Mauren, Paris 1920" and is clear and sharp.
The hand coloring is exceptional.
Overall the image an A- and the sheet an A-.
