Louis Icart Kittens

His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
"Buying Works by Icart." He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

The paper is heavy wove and there is no visible watermark. The margins have been trimmed to fit an oval frame. The etching has been professionally conserved and is very clean.
There are no scratches, rips, pinholes, foxing or other imperfections to the image.
The signature (lr) is moderate, and the notation "176" appears (ll).
The copyright (ur) reads "Copyright by Les Graveurs Modernes, Paris" and it is strong and sharp. The publisher's notation (ul) reads "Edite par la Societie Les Graveurs Moderne 194 rue de Rivoli, Paris" and is strong and sharp.
The hand coloring in the lips, rouge, and bow on the cat is very strong.
Overall the image is an A and the sheet an A-
