Louis Icart Scared

His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
"Buying Works by Icart." He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

The paper is heavy wove with a full AD VALCKE watermark. The work has been professionally conserved.
There are no pinholes, scratches, foxing, or tears to the image or sheet. There are framer’s notations in the margins and a small circular stain in the far right margin.
The signature is strong (lr) and the EM blind stamp (ll) is fine and is together with the notation "219."
The copyright notation (ur) reads "Copyright 1920 by the F. H. Bresler & Co, Milwaukee USA" and is strong and sharp. The publisher’s notation (ul) reads “publie par L’Estampe Moderne, 12 rue Godot de Mauren, Paris 1920” and is clear and sharp.
The hand coloring is exceptional.
Overall the image is an A- and the sheet is an A-.
