Loretta, originally from Lithuania, has lived in the United States since 1996. Her works on hand painted silk are often based on her interpretation of a passage of poetry by Robert Burns or James Weldon Johnson where she strives to find truth in her subject. She chooses materials and colors that help express her playfulness and freedom. She starts with graphic eskiz placed on a small piece of paper. From this, she transfers her vision to silk where the lines, colors, and brush strokes blend together with emotion and harmony.
