Louis Icart - Louis Icart Bluebirds

His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

Paper Size: 22 3/8 x 19 3/8′ (oval)
The paper is heavy wove with no watermark. The etching has been professionally conserved, and is in fine condition.
There are no scratches, foxing, or rips to the paper. The notation “69” appears in the (ll).
The signature (lr) in crayon is moderate.
The copyright in the upper center is reads “Copyright 1926 by les Graveurs Moderne 194 rue de Rivoli, Paris” and is moderate.
There is good hand coloring to the lips. Overall this is a good impression.
Overall the image is an A and the sheet an A-.
