Louis Icart - Louis Icart Broken Green Jug

His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

Paper Size: 19 1/2 x 14 5/8″ (oval)
This is a loose sheet and the paper is heavy wove. The etching has been professionally conserved and is very clean. There is no toning to the sheet or image.
There are no, scratches, tears, or foxing to the image or sheet.
The signature (lr) is strong and there is notation “29” (ll).
The copyright (ur) reads Copyright by les Graveurs Moderne Paris,” and the editor’s notation ((ul) “reads “Editie par la Societie Les Graveurs Moderne, 194 rue de Rivoli – Paris.” Both are correct and clear and strong.
There is strong hand coloring in the image. This is a strong impression and a crisp clean image.
Overall the image is an A+ and the sheet an A-.

There are no, scratches, tears, or foxing to the image or sheet. There are two diagonal creases that go through the image.
The signature (lr) is moderate and there is notation “165” (ll).
The copyright (ur) reads Copyright by les Graveurs Moderne Paris,” and the editor’s notation ((ul) “reads “Editie par la Societie Les Graveurs Moderne, 194 rue de Rivoli – Paris.” Both are correct and clear and strong.
There is strong hand coloring in the image. This is a strong impression and a crisp clean image.
